Cowpens Engine 2, Rescue 1, and Squad 1 responded to assist Drayton Fire Dept. on a residential fire with fire in the attic.  Upon arrival E-2 was assigned the task of vertical ventilation.  Rescue 1 and Squad 1 assumed the duties of R.I.T. and supplemented suppression efforts inside the structure.

Cowpens Engine 2 and Rescue 1 responded to assist Drayton Fire Dept. with a residential fire with entrapment.  Engine 2 was given the 2nd due Engine assignment of Search and Rescue.  Crews entered directly into the bedroom of the structure via a wall breach that can be viewed in the photo.  E-2 personnel executed a rapid search of the bedroom under heavy smoke and fire conditions.  Crews located and removed one unresponsive victim from the structure via the same entry point.  The victim was passed off to Fire and EMS crews for resuscitation efforts and transport.  After being successfully resucitated enroute to the hospital the patient was then transported to the Augusta Burn Center for further treatment and has since been released.
